Applications Open for Matsumae International Foundation Fellowship 2027

The Matsumae International Foundation (MIF) has announced the opening of applications for its prestigious research fellowship program for 2027, aimed at early-career researchers worldwide.

The program offers scholars holding a PhD the opportunity to conduct research in Japan for approximately six months at a host institution of their choice. 

The fellowship provides a monthly stipend of JPY 220,000, a one-time start-up allowance of JPY 120,000, round-trip airfare, health insurance, and participation in a study tour in Hiroshima.

The application period will run from June 1 to June 30, 2026, with results expected to be announced by the end of November 2026.

The program aims to promote international research exchange and contribute to global cooperation and mutual understanding.
